Cut, craft and learn about some spectacular London buildings whilst building your own Model London.

The Palm House at Kew Gardens was designed using techniques borrowed from ship building which were employed here architecturally for the first time. As well as creating a sumptuous form, this design maximises light for the plants, ensuring that the sun’s rays are always perpendicular to some facet of the glazing whatever the season.

All Open House models come with a spare set of printed sheets in case you make a mistake.

Net design and illustration: Alberte Lauridsen of Edit, a feminist architecture collective.
